With a background in Higher Education and Government her teaching, research and management skills are second to none. The two year programme of study to become a Blue Badge Guide honed her understanding of the Island's history, culture, heritage, wildlife, architecture and much more. She takes a particular interest in social history and in music and dance.

My Story
I was born in the Isle of Man and have lived here most of my life. After studying in Leicester and Sheffield, England I spent 5 years in Switzerland where I picked up my French which I have continued to learn ever since. Continuing my career in Higher Education at Sheffield Hallam University I taught and ran programmes at Under Graduate and Post Graduate levels and continued my research, often focusing on Manx themes. In 2001 the Island called me home and I took up a position in the Isle of Man Government's HR team. Following this I was Head of Learning at the Department for Health and Social Care until early retirement and a change of scene. After a period as Festival Secretary for the Manx Competitive Music Speech and Dance Festival I trained as a Blue Badge Guide. I have been a tour guide since 2022.
